Sunday April 15th (Away)
Having travelled down with only 11 players, the vets were in for a difficult game. Sure enough, Kernow were a goal up not long after the kick off and remained in control until just before half time when Pat Hawkin scored an equaliser. The ‘boys’ came out in the second half with more determination and were soon in the lead with a great goal from Mark Burman followed by another was then scored by Pete Lovatt. Even after they went down to ten men following Roy Fielder suffering a pulled hamstring, Martin Smith scored the fourth to complete a comfortable victory.
With one more league match to play against Saltash at one on Sunday (KO at 11), we are odds on to win the league, and will play Downderry in the final of the Supplementary Cup on May 13th (Venue TBC). A successful return for the vets team after a break of seven years.
