Bude hit Plymstock for six to claim a vital three points

Despite a less than ideal preparation for Saturday's crucial relegation battle vs Plymstock, Bude Town left Dean Cross with all three points and smile on their face as they racked up an impressive 6-1 victory. The game began slowly with both sides taking a while to get into the game and it was Bude who struck first through Scott Percy in the 20th minute. Percy latched onto a through ball and his low strike was dealt with poorly by the Plymstock keeper and Bude were in the lead. Five minutes later the lead was doubled as a deep Percy corner was nodded back into the danger zone by Chris Hill and was finished expertly by Josh Allen (London) who volleyed home from 10 yards. What happened next will go down in Bude folklore; a thirteen minute perfect hat trick from Josh Allen, who doubled his tally with a header and made it three with a neat left foot finish to put Bude 4-0 up and in full control at half time.

The second half began with Plymstock applying more pressure and they got their rewards when a long throw wasn't dealt with properly and Chris Maskell swept it home at the back post. Plymstock grew in confidence and 5 minutes later a header at the back post looked destined for the net before Alex Harrison acrobatically hooked the ball clear at the last minute. This woke Bude up; Chris Hill capped a fine performance with a second assist as he brought the ball down on his chest and hit a 50 yard ball to striker Percy who calmly slotted home for Bude's 5th and guaranteed three points. Captain Liam Sandercock put the icing on the cake then he flicked home Percy's corner to round off a fine team performance. Bude's win sees them leapfrog Illogan in the table and gains them a vital three points in their bid to avoid relegation.
