Bude Ladies 4 - 0 Tedburn St Mary

After a slow start to the season, the girls put in a fantastic performance on Sunday 30th Sept against Tedburn St Mary. Manager Rich Pinkus set the tone with an uplifting team talk, setting a positive attitude as the game kicked off. Bude were strong from the start, playing some purposeful football. Passing was precise and creative throughout, giving the girls plenty of chances on goal. The Bude girls went 1-0 after 10 minutes with Katherine Bryant capitalising on great teamwork from Claire Gifford, Kelly Darnley and Courtney Ward. Hard work and a solid performance from the Bude defence of Lisa Cornish, Zoe Curtis and Tidge Gifford halted any chances from the Tedburn side of significantly testing Jo Timmins in the Bude goal. The second goal came from a superbly placed free kick from Kelly to end the first half with the away side 2 - 0 up.

Another positive team talk at half time from Manager ‘Pinky’, set the girls off into the second half with an early goal once again by Katherine after excellent play from wingers Molly Curtis and Louise Pullan. Despite tiredness setting in towards the latter stages of the second half, Bude worked hard with Clare Badham sitting up front pressing the Tedburn defence and Sarah Devon coming on to work hard in a defensive role. Sarah Badham scored Bude’s 4th and final goal of the game leaving the score 4-0 to Bude.

These 3 points will hopefully give the girls a boost after a disappointing opening run to the 2018/19 season.

Next game: At home to FENITON Sunday Oct 7th at 2pm.
